Nolan Ryan and Bob Gibson supposedly struck out the same guy six years apart for both of their 3,000th strikeouts. Who was this guy?

Gibson struck out Cincinnati's Cesar Geronimo on July 17, 1974 for #3000.
Ryan struck out Cincinnati's Cesar Geronimo on July 4, 1980 for #3000.
